Storyteller Fred Mott paid a visit to Albert Harris Elementary recently, and we think it's safe to say that our students will remember his visit for a long time!
Even our youngest learners were rapt with attention as Mott spoke, skillfully weaving together voice, movement, and character to make familiar tales like the Billy Goats Gruff feel new and exciting. He also introduced students to stories and characters that might be less familiar but equally fascinating, such as Anansi the Spider.
Throughout, Mott engaged the students, encouraging repetition and movement that allowed them to participate in his stories and learn some of his technique.
Every student left the auditorium with smiles on their faces.
